                          AFTER CARE

Post treatment care makes up 80% - 90% of the total treatment success.  Conscientiously adhere to the given advice because if not, you can risk losing up to 80% of the drawn strokes.  Not following proper directed aftercare compromises the integrity of the healing process, and can damage the outcome of the final result by creating scar tissue and other skin trauma. Furthermore, any integration of any other methods voids any guarantee as to the outcome of the service and may incurred an additional supply fee if a touch up is needed

At the end of your session, we will provide you with an after care kit that has everything you need for the 10-14 day healing process. This may vary per skin type, but 14 days recommended for the best results.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE FIRST 10-14 DAYS:

Everyone is different and healing times vary according to your health. Generally speaking the skin surface will heal in under a week, and the basal layers (underneath layers) of the skin take a little longer. This said, there is no real down time as long as you follow the Post Care Instructions.

EYEBROW HEALING PROCESS IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE FIRST 10-14 DAYS:

  • Day of service: It’s really normal for your brows to feel tight, tender (similar to a sunburn). Your brows will look warmer (more red/orange) than they will heal.  The skin is pink from irritation, as well as we formulate the pigment color on the warmer side to neutralize healed results.  (because we know brows will heal on the ashy/cool side)

  • Gently pat the treated area with a clean dry tissue for up to 2 hours after the procedure, allow the skin to dry and then wash and apply a thin layer of the after care ointment provided by your artist. This will be repeated twice a day from day 2 -10.

  • Days 2 - 5: Your brows will start to look darker as the thin protective film develops (not a scab).  Brows will typically heal 30-50% lighter than what you see immediately upon finishing the tattoo.  They will not heal this color so do not panic!  Leave your brows alone!   Scratching, picking etc will cause irritation, can cause scarring and uneven pigment retention or loss of pigment all together. The film will stay intact for a few days and will start flaking away when the skin underneath is ready.

  • Days 2-10, gently dab the treated area with water and gently cleanse with soap and apply the provided ointment, make sure the skin is always dry before applying.

  • Days 6 - 10: The film will start peeling by itself and can make the area feel itchy. Try not to scratch or pull the film off prematurely.

  • Days 10 - 14: When brows are fully sloughed, the ink implanted will look around 50% lighter, the color will have neutralized (and be less orange/red) now that you're seeing the pigment IN the skin and not sitting ON top of the skin.  Brows will also appear slightly smaller in size.  As the skin tissue heals, the openness of the brows (like a wound) will shrink and close up, going from sharp, dark color and edges, to a soft, more natural brow look.

  • Apply aftercare ointment up to 2-4 times a day for normal skin, 1-2 times daily for oily skin

  • Avoid getting the treated area wet for 10 days

  • No sweating or excessive exercise for 14 days

  • Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the brow area for 10-14 days

  • No facials, botox, chemical peels or microdermabrasion's for 4 weeks

  • No major sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks

  • Your brows currently are in the healing/repairing process.  This skin is thicker than ‘normal’ skin, creating an opaque/milky look that is masking the color that you see.  Although you will feel as though your brows are healed at this point, they are not  there yet and need to be treated with care for the next 4-6 weeks as your skin is still regenerating and needs time to fully heal.

  • Weeks 4 - 6: As the skin regeneration process continues, you will see the color and definition returning.  The color may feel a little light, compared to the 1st day of application ... but this is what a TOUCHUP is for. Step2 the PERFECTION SESSION IS NECESSARY!

  • Most people tend to start out lighter (afraid of going too dark) and decide that they want to boost the color a little bit at touch-up.  It is easy to add more pigment and go darker at the touch-up.  It is not possible to go lighter without removal.

How long do the results last for?

Semi-Permanent Cosmetic Tattoo can last for many years. The actual length of time is variable and depends on factors such as lifestyle, UV/sun exposure, skin type, beauty regimen, the density of color implanted into the skin (softer enhancements do not last as long as strong, bold enhancements). We recommend a touch-up ($100) within 6 weeks of your first session. This will allow us to check healing and ensure the desired color & saturation has been achieved.

*Please note that final results CANNOT be guaranteed as everyone retains and breaks down pigment differently.  A follow-up appointment is recommended between 6-8 weeks where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary.  People with lighter hair, correction work or sparse eyebrows may require more than one follow-up to reach their desired look at an additional cost.
